Vita Nova. Who we are
Vita Nova is an e-sport's governing body for the PC first person shooter game, Call of Duty 4 Promod. Founded in January of 2010, the organisation is comprised of a select few individuals dedicated to running, growing and promoting the competitive scene. All the staff here at Vita Nova are volunteers who share the same beliefs, goals and importantly, love for the game.
Our Mission
Despite several newer releases by Activision, Call of Duty 4 is the franchise's title of choice by competitive Call of Duty players. With the modification of the game's mechanics to suit competitive play through Promod, Call of Duty 4 had become a household name in professional first person shooter gaming.
However, despite its early successes, economic recession and a number of variable factors has led to slow competitive decline.
Vita Nova was formed with the aim of rejuvenating and building a better future for Call of Duty 4 Promod's competitive players. Our long-term vision is one of growth, promotion and professionalism and it is our belief that, with a clear succinct direction and proper running, Call of Duty 4 Promod can increase its popularity, nurture new talent, and become a larger, sustainable, e-sports title with global acclaim.
Most importantly however, our vision is to reward you, the Call of Duty 4 Promod gamer, young or old, for playing the game you love to play with a range of competitive opportunities in a structured, prize and sponsor rich environment.
Our Approach
Modelling ourselves on successful sports governing bodies, unification is key to the game's long term success. We believe in strongly supporting local and international communities to encourage sustainable growth. The implementation of universal rule sets, policies and systems globally throughout these communities allows for unification under the Call of Duty 4 Promod name.
Providing a clear, tiered system of competition for teams and players is pivotal. Sports league systems have always proved successful; by providing structure and organisation in the form of leagues and tournaments, a recognisable system is therefore produced. This will encourage global awareness and create consistency, something competition has lacked since its inception.
This system structure is bolstered by key relationships with e-sports magnates and partnerships with league and tournament hosts. We not only assist and advise, but run and administrate multiple reputable online competitions including ESH, Cybergamer and ESF.
It doesn't stop there, while encouraging online activity and growth is the first step to success, we continuously play a large role in advising LAN organisers in a number of key areas, including planning and tournament format, to ensure a successful and smooth running that rewards player, sponsor and host.
Sustainable development requires the combined efforts of our staff and of the game's communities, by working to induce pervasive media content through social networking platforms and other channels, promoting the game's benefits becomes reality.
